Traditional Pea Salad


  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt, plus additional to taste
  • 4 cups frozen peas, thawed
  • 8 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 1/2 medium red onion, finely diced
  • 1 1/2 cups cheddar cheese, cut into small cubes


  • In a large bowl, combine sour cream, mayo, sugar, apple cider vinegar, and salt, whisking until well blended.
  • Add peas, crumbled bacon, diced onion, and cheddar cheese to the bowl. Gently stir to ensure even coating in the dressing.
  • Refrigerate for a minimum of 1 hour before serving to allow flavors to meld. Optionally, garnish with additional crispy bacon before serving. Enjoy!
